The invasion continues

Pretty much everything I did with my parents was all stuff right in my neighborhood. I honestly don't think we walked more than four blocks to get anywhere. Among the highlights? The amazing cupcake shop a short walk north of my apartment where not only do they have incredible cupcakes, they have swings to sit on at the counter and board games to entertain you before/during/after dessert! My mom ended up being the Connect Four champion, with me following close behind, and my dad winning one out of... five? ten? I lost count... (just teasing Dad!!)

We spent Sunday at the nature museum, conservatory, and zoo - again, all mere blocks from my apartment! The nature museum has an indoor butterfly garden that was just incredible - butterflies and moths flying all over, and, best of all, humid & 80 degrees! I felt very much at home, and so did this one butterfly apparently.

Pros of having your parents in town? Eating out and not having to worry about it. Cons? Having to take an absurd amount of cheesy photos. As you can see, at the conservatory Valentine's Day was in full effect. They even had these plants called Hoyas with leaves shaped like hearts - you can see its sign if you click on the picture to blow it up. How appropriate!
