Shots from the Sunshine State

Ahhh Florida... how I miss your sun and temperatures in the 70s... Today in Boston, it's freezing. Surprise, surprise. This morning I put on my boots, I zipped up my big down coat, and threw on my gloves to drive down our icy driveway en route to Dana Farber for my usual Wednesday chemotherapy. I'm pretty tired though so I'll probably nap after I write this and maybe I'll dream I'm somewhere warm, with sun, and NO snow...

Of course the first thing we had to do was take a picture in front of palm trees! Hooray for no coats and flip flops!

Our first night out we went to this great seafood place called Sharky's with my dad's parents and my aunt & uncle (who were also celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary - congratulations again!) We sat outside so I was able to capture my mum and Kristen with the remains of the sunset.

We stayed in Sarasota and our first day we went out and explored the town a bit.... it was a tad windy!

Sarasota is where the Ringlings wintered (as in Ringling Brothers' Circus) so there was this massive estate with their art collection (very impressive) as well as their old home (gorgeous & right on the water) and then a whole museum for the circus.

Kristen unfortunately had to stay on top of all her homework (physics and chemistry reading) as well as do an at-home lab for physics! Here she is experimenting with electromagnetism in our hotel room. Clearly, she's very dedicated!
