'Tis the season

For my last night in Chicago I went with some friends to Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo. All throughout the zoo they wrapped the trees in lights and set up displays that would be timed to holiday music - it was beautiful. Everything around the city right now is so festive, it makes the cold much more bearable. I wish they'd leave the lights up for the whole season, but I don't think they'll stay past January which is unfortunate... it all looks so pretty!

Tomorrow morning I'm flying out to spend the holidays with my family in Boston. I was supposed to go today, but thanks to the blizzard that's swept the east coast I'm going a day late... better late than never!
